Did he vote for or against the "Surge".
Will he pull us out before the job is done, and allow the Taliban/Al Qaeda to regain the ground they lost?
Will what he does set the stage for another attack like 911 because the perpetrators will view us as a paper tiger again?

You said that, I didn't.
I said previous decisions and actions would give a good indicator as to what the man would do in the future, do you dispute that?

We're not talking about me Bruce. We're talking about Congress. I have often felt that we don't speak the same language when attempting to communicate, Bruce. This is no exception. I said that almost everyone on Capital Hill was an accomplice (an obvious reference to congress). You disagreed and said that almost everyone in Congress agreed with the decision (???), just as I had said. Kinda like this:
Ron: "the sky is blue."
Bruce: "I disagree. The sky is obviously blue".
And yes, I was in the vast minority then, but things have changed a bit. Very few still believe that the invasion of Iraq was a wise choice for our country.
And quit worrying about his wife. She is his wife and he is not suggesting you have to accept her as anything but his wife. He met her and started his family without an eye toward running for President. To suggest she is a liability for him in his quest for the Presidency is just not very Christian, now is it? Would you find him a better candidate if he divorced her or denounced her for speaking out about her pride in America becoming most apparent to her of late?
Pouncing on her words is childish. It is an excuse to find something to get riled up about. So she is proud of the way the American people have accepted a man of color as their potential leader for the first time in her adult life and didn't parse the words as precisely as you might have liked. ......... No where in his message is anything divisive.
Jim
Have you noticed that you said basically the same thing about his minister? "She just his wife..." "He's just his minister..." Are you really so blind that you can't see what is going on here?

I can agree that we are not talking the same language, but I don't agree that we are saying the same thing at all.
You indicated that you agree with what Obama said, I stated that you and he were, and still are in the minority. Both of you were/are against the will of the majority of the people on this one.
