no other animal gives you love like a dog does, not a single other animal. That is one animal that should be out of bounds.

I have a dog and four cats and I agree with you about the dog but I must admit that cats can be as loving and actually not food driven in their display of affection and even attachment. I have one odd cat in that group who thinks she's a dog. She actually sleeps with the dog, get bathed by him and shares his bowl at the same time. We are talking about a little cat with a huge Belgian Shepherd here. She loves to go out with the dog and her cue to let me know that it's time to go out is to jump on my shoulder and stay there. She actually learned that from another cat that does the same thing when it wants to frolic in the yard. Hell I had that one on my shoulder while walking the dog in my neighborhood with no cat leach and it stayed put amazing every passerby and literally creating a small traffic jam when drivers slow down to see this show.
I would comfortably say that cats have an amazing brain and have self awareness. Isn't that the test for humanity in way? Maybe I am crazy but I can assure you that I can read an expression from those cat's faces and it's just amazing how much information I can gather or even offer them. The cat that thinks she's a dog actually listens to instructions just like my dog. I am not making this up. When I take her out to the yard she actually does what the dog does and actually responds to words like "come", "Let's go inside", "jump". I also noticed that the cats know their own individual names, now you tell me if that's not awareness.

We can't really tell other people to change their cultural values in their own land.
Again about animals; I nursed a wild bird to health after I found it with a broken leg and when I turned Willy loose (that was his name) he would come back to my bedroom when I leave the window open (That was when I was a kid) and whenever I went to the yard he would land on my head or shoulder like he wants to greet me. Think about it, I friggin tiny brain that knows what gratitude is all about. I still eat chickens though

I'll gun down a deer for food and execute a ferrel cat for the health of a community, but putting marmaduke on the menu is a fucking no no.

Holy Cow

"Most Hindus respect the cow as a matriarchal figure for its gentle qualities and providing nurturing milk and its products for a largely vegetarian diet. It holds an honored place in society, and it is part of Hindu tradition to avoid the consumption of beef."

Now you do not see the Hindus coming over here and telling us to stop eating cows now do we. We all have different cultures in this world, and each of us eats as we please (and can afford), and that is the beauty of life on earth...diversity.
