Saw a show on Speed last night that had a "stock" CL65 (V12 biturbo) doing drag races against all sorts of purpose-built dragsters. It kept winning until it faced a completely gutted tube-frame Camaro that lifted both front wheels when it's driver dropped the hammer. The CL was regularly turning 8.6's on stock tires.
A CL is not running 8.6 in the quarter mile on street tires, drag radials, or slicks, no way, no how, no period. I have friends with the car it just is not going to happen. Take the car to RENNtech or Kleeman and get them to modify the car and it is still not going to run 8.6 in the quarter. I call Bullshit. If you correct the post and say 8.6 in the 1/8th mile I will believe it but if you are still trying to claim these incredible numbers in the quarter I will again say bullshit and ask you to back your claims up with proof.
