It does to me. My favorite time of the year here is June. I wish it were like that all year long. Take the urban sprawl out of the picture (which I effectively have), and this place is frickin' paradise. I can walk out my front door and in less than 30 minutes be completely beyond any hint of civilization.
I must say, the summer sunsets there can be breath taking, some of the most beautiful in the world.
In the early morning in summer, and after sunset, the weather is just *perfect*, truly a delight.
But in the summer, the salesmen and professionals have to pack extra white shirts in their briefcases, it gets so hot, so fast, doesn't take very long to have yourself soaked in sweat.
In July, in Tucson, you could always go to the outskirts of town and drive up to Mt Lemmon, and escape the 112* temp and enjoy a forested 75* degree paradise, and still close to Tucson far below.
Rent a cabin, have a BBQ, go for walks. It was lots of fun. Folks have a delightful July 4th up there, and even a pet parade.
