After you have played in the swamp and have had to kill to survive, playing Rambo against a deer or squirrel or whatever just doesn't have any redeeming value. What exactly triggers the adrenaline rush when only one side of the conflict is armed?

While I understand the need to thin the herd of deer as they can be parasitic on the suburban environment, that can be done in a more logical, thoughtful way.

I much prefer hunting deer with a Olympus E500 and Sigma APO 135-400mm F4.5-5.6 DG. Cleaner, quieter and with much better results.

I shot quite a few deer in wisconsin, from 220 yards not a big deal, up close and personal putting them down, different story. when i was 17 i had to put a cat down that had been ran over by a car on my grandparents farm, it was either a 12 gauge or 30-06 rifle, Both would not have been pretty, I ended up using a 3 pound hammer. was the right thing to do it was in alot of pain, but that experience definately has stayed with me.

I'm not a hunter, but I'd wager money that I'm a better shot than you.

I have no problem with hunting...I have done quite a bit of it over the years.... I DO have a problem calling it a SPORT!!!! Grab a Bowie knife, then come tell me about your sport.... Just seems a little unfair sitting in your tree, with special scents, and a rifle......

I also have a problem with people saying you are not a real man if you don't hunt.... I work 45-50 hours a week to support my family, I get up at ungodly hours of the night when my 1 year old cries in the middle of the night, and have been taking care of my 95 year old invalid grandmother for the past 7 years..... If that doesn't make me a real man, then shooting a deer from a few hundred yards won't help me become a REAL MAN!!

(now, bow hunting wild boar... That might be a sport.... By the time you are in range to shoot them, they are close enough to gore the heck out of you.... MAN, can those suckers move... )

Oh yeah..... Gregs300cd......Seek help......

It's amazing how the sickos like benz rider just pop up on a topic like this. Laughing at the suffering of an animal is not only weird but downright sick.
When I look at an animal I see a soul, a creature that processes information almost like we do and can show love and affection. When I was a kid I picked up an injured bird and took it to my room, fed it and made a cast for its broken leg. A week of healing and after I let it go it would always come back to my bedroom window and will always land on my shoulder as I step out off the house or go in the yard. A fkin bird that showed appreciation better than what humans do sometimes. Why kill such creatures? Why?

Kill for fun or because you're hungry and have nothing else to eat?
Right wingers and guns are a dangerous combination for sure I also have a feeling that when you were a kid you killed ant colonies in mass just to enjoy the genocide. What did you use on them? Gasoline? pee?
