You are wrong.

Actually it certainly IS a crime. It is on the books and even carries custodial penalties.

It just usually isn't prosecuted, though.

^ Blue law bullshit. Until I at least know someone who knows someone who knows someone who has faced criminal sanctions for adultery, I'll stand by my assessment.

Wait, didn't we have a big Congressional investigation a while back regarding adultery and some guy named Bill?

I wouldn't exactly consider assigning tax revenues to address the guilt of our liberal friends "brave"...more like pandering. None of the things they advocate have any impact on them, because none of their own behaviors can be measured against them.

Plus, when they do have a mandate from the people to carry out a specific task, they fail miserably - not because they're outsmarted or the task is impossible, but because they're cowards.

And all are issues that are designed to ensure a socialistic society. When did it become the government's responsibility to distribute benefits? No one has the right to anything but what's guaranteed in the constitution: Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness, and we, as a society, have laws that remove those rights when a person demonstrates they will live their life to commit crimes against others.

Ah, but the public demanded most of those redistributive policies. See, that's what happens in a Republic; a problem or a the perception of a problem arises, and then the people's representatives seek a solution to said problem which usually requires the application of public funds (public welfare). Sometimes when the public is not paying attention, then redistributive policies are enacted by our "representatives" which seek to funnel public funds upward to an elite powerful few (corporate welfare). And, sometimes "representatives" become a tad overly enthusiastic about "representing" their district's constituents and get a little greedy with the public funds (pork).

That is all

Boy, you can twist the facts like no one I have ever met! He was impeached for perjury, not adultery. Obviously the adultery came before the perjury, but the investigation was into his statement--"I did not have sexual relations w/ that woman!"--not his adultery.

Happy 10,000!
