For a while I have paid between 2.65 USD and 2.90 USD a US gallon for Shell Super Extra as they call it here, it is just Shell 95 octane.

So for about a month I had not gotten gas due to travel, not driving much and as well using the wife's car so last week I popped in and filled up and after a brief calculation they have raised it to 3.32 USD for a US gallon here in the Land of Milk & Honey.................

At the least expensive station in Portland (a Chevron), $3.56 for Supreme

I realize you think you understand what you thought I said, but what I am not so sure about is whether what you think you heard is what I think I meant.

Currently in new england supper is around $3.30 depending on the brand name. I can see it going over $4 by mid summer.

According to the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report the RECORD price for Regular was set on 5/24/2007 @ $3.227. Today it is at $3.222.

When George Bush took office it was $1.52 Global comparison of price per gallon of gasoline (January 2001)
Inflation should take that price up to $1.81

Diesel hit a new record today at $3.829.

Yet another page in the coloring book that is George Bush's Legacy.

Being smart is knowing the difference, in a sticky situation between a well delivered anecdote and a well delivered antidote - bear.

Since we're nearing Spring, I just transitioned from the Audi Q-wagon back to my lovely 300TD. I just paid $4.01/gal for B99 (biodiesel). Diesel is around $3.87/gal

£1.06 a liter. Or getting close to £5 a gallon. With the current exchange rate at around $1.90 to £1.00 I'll let you do the maths. On the bright side a US gallon is about 80% the size of a British one.

If you pay attention, the Sunday paper can be a good investment, lowering supper prices into the low $2's.
