I started smoking at around 15, and went through 3 packs + per day for about 30 years.
When I quit, a doctor prescribed nicotine patches, but omitted to tell me to take them off at night. The first morning I woke up, well like having smoked a pack in my sleep, and feeling pretty bad.
I stopped using the patches, and haven't smoked since, well tobacco that is.
I hadn't really thought I could quit like that, but I just did. It's a surprise to me to this day.
