Not having ABS, I modulate pressure on the pedal to keep the brakes right on the verge of locking. If they do-- let up a tiny bit, then press again. I've read some accounts that say this is superior to ABS, but requires more skill, so the tech is used as a fail-safe.

I'm not even 'against' you in this-- it's just the guy in the Mustang's fault, not the UPS driver's.

That car has ABS and it would be foolish to pump the brakes as you describe.

You need to learn some basic traffic laws if you think the UPS driver wasn't at fault. He failed to yield to right of way, causing a chain reaction of events. The Mustang could be cited for following too close but the truck driver, who was the causative factor, should be cited for failure to yield to right of way.

elau, I hate to break the news to you.
You are an old geezer and the other old geezer was in fact racing you NASCAR style.
Both of you should switch to racing town cars.

I suggest you get a slower means of transport. These pocket rockets are
not meant for you if you are not aware of the surrounding environment. Defensive
driving. The fact that you did not even take caution when you saw the bloodshot
eyes on the truck driver is proof.

I wonder what would you do if you are in my shoes? By the way, if you read carefully. I was rear ended. So maybe it has nothing to do with how fast the G is?

BTW, I did own a ML. Look up my signature from a few years ago. I gave that to my ex as divorce settlement.

I honestly think the car held up pretty good given it was a 30 to 35 mph impact.

Your comment makes me question your integrity. Frankly.
If your car wasn't damaged, would you be so pissed off ? Of course, its always about
the damage.
I am doing you a favor, get a slower car. Time to grow up like the rest of us... ha ha...

If you're just pulling away from a stop light, aren't up to speed yet and are only traveling 'about 30' why do you need to make a panic stop in the first place?

You saw the trucker and played a game of chicken-- the 'arsehole' in the Mustang has more power than you do, was peeling out to jump around the SUV, and in front of you, but got caught behind you two when the trucker called your bluff.

Period.

You calling the guy in the Mustang an 'arsehole' proves you has previous beef with him.

If this were as innocent as you're claiming-- you'd have said: "the guy in the Mustang behind me didn't have as good of brakes as I had, and hit me after the 18-wheeler cut us all off."

Sorry guage, not all of us like driving tractors and shove corn up our butt for the enjoyment.
Now go back and count your pigs... you may have extra ones from your affair with that hog a couple of months ago
