Peruvian chocolate is better than anything, even the Swiss, Belgian and German.
Best chocolate I ever had, bar none, (no pun intended!!!) was the La Iberica brand, which has its factory, and factory store in Arequipa, Peru.
It is perfect, just right
. It is well known to everone in Peru, as the best there is.
Unfortunately, it is not exported. That is why Peruvian-Americans that visit "home" ALWAYS stock up on it, and when I went there, AWAYS did.
"Last chance" buyers can get it at the Jorge Chavez International Airport in Lima, but the selection there is not as good, as at the factory store in Arequipa.
They have a website, but none is exported here.

When I lived in San Francisco, when I visited Ghirardelli Square, (usually showing tourists the City, which I know VERY well) I would always stop by the Ghirardelli chocolate factory store which was there.
The best deal going there is the barrels there with "broken" chocolate bars, where you can get the best chocolate bars, for real cheap, if a chocolate bar
that has been broken doesn't hurt your feelings.
