The first SMW4 repair work has been completed and all non-restorable services were restored by 12:35 GMT on 8th February. The repair vessel is moving towards the location of the second fault and is expected to arrive on 13th February when non-restorable services will experience further outages whilst the fault testing and repair is undertaken.
Restorable traffic currently on SMW3, will not be normalised onto SMW4 until both repairs have been completed.
The Flag repair work has been completed and all non restorable services were restored by 18:00 GMT on 9th February. Flag has advised that the normalisation of the restorable services will take place between 06:00GMT and 15:00 GMT on 11th February
Carrier Voice Services & International Freefone Services
The restoration of Flag and SMW4 cables has restored capacity to the region and removed the congestion issues. All voice services are stable
MPLS is stable and the restoration of Flag and SMW4 cables has restored resiliency to the Cairo MPLS PoP.
The first of the 3 x STM4 additional trunks was accepted into the network on 8th February. Work is ongoing to implement the additional 2 X STM4 trunks for future resiliency.
All other platforms are stable.
