Now he is not in first place with this fiscal brilliance. Rudy spend $60 Million to get exactly ZERO delegates. With a filing fee of $250, each of us on BWOT could have achieved the EXACT RESULTS with 1/240,000 the budget - 1/48000 IF we got CLKman to print up $1000 worth of Yard Signs.
Get a grip bear! Romney has 244 delegates and the last estimate I saw was that he had spent less than $20M of his own money, and has raised more $ from more people than any other Republican candidate. That's just a little over $80K of his $/delegate. As usual, your math leaves a lot to be desired. It's right up there w/ your math on economic issues. Given your math he would have 6,557 delegates! Or looking at it another way he would have spent nearly $400,000,000.00 of his own money... Hard to do since he's only worth $250M.

The thing Rudy can hold on to is, at least he was spending someone else's money.

I've got to hand it to McCain for running a tight ship and keeping under the limit's to recieve taxpayer assistance. He might beat Huckabee out dollar/delegate, though I must admit I haven't looked at the reports.

Obama on the other hand seems to be rewriting the rulebook on the process. Expect the next round of finance reform to forbid small donations "from the average joe". It's just not fair to the big lobbyists don't you know.

Well, I went back and looked at the quote [Time stamp showed it was before all the returns were in last night] so I redid the math using FEC numbers.

As of 1/31 Romney had spend $86M in Contributions, $35M in Loans and had less than $3M in cash in hand. So he actually only spent $495,901 per delegate. Again, his LOAN money numbers are from the FEC.

The quote that I provided [if you had bothered to read] was not my math. My math usually is dead on- you just don't like the answers.

Typical! If the answers aren't what you want to hear, just quote any bogus source that is handy... as long as it agrees w/ your warped view of the world.

Hence the reason I prefaced it with the qualifier "I saw a great quote today:"

But after doing the math, I consider the $495,901 per delegate just as humorous. And those numbers are mine and stone cold accurate by way of the FEC.

And since the Republicans require 1191 delegates, the revised total required to buy the Nomination at the $495,901 would be only $590,618,091

For the math impaired, here is how we got there. He had spend $121Million to date to get 244 delegates [your number]. That comes to $495,901 per delegate. $491,901 X 1191 = $590,618,091

Editing due to correcting the delegate from CNN to Politico number for Republican requirement.

Why would you want to confuse the Jaybird by bringing stone cold accurate facts in to it, from the many economic discussions, you know how he is dealing with facts and numbers............

Some people do crosswords.

By the way, I like the portrait you posted above. That is 1 Romney per 11.61 Delegates. 1:11.61. I think only the Kennedy's could come close to that but, oh wait, they WON two out of three nominations.
