OK, here is the latest, I won an eBay auction for a Geo Prizm actually. I guess I got myslef a rebadged Toyota.
Got it for $1275.00 and will be picking it up from Philly.
Anyone knows the logistics for driving the car back to Baltimore? Like what steps should I take vis a vis the MVA or the seller.
PM Bear, I am sure he has some tips and tricks up his sleeve...........
yeah, like a 500SL engine swap in that thing
I do have a nice 500SL engine/tranny available from a 129 but that is another story.
Is the Prizm drivable? If so, and the tags go with the car you should have no problem. If I remember correctly in PA you have these little notaries that will do bills of sale/title exchanges. From that you should have ALL the paperwork you need. Get your insurance company to give you insurance cards in case you get pulled over.
NOW, the only part that MIGHT be an issue is tags. IF tags don't go with the car, ask the seller if you can leave the tags on until you get home then mail, FexEx them back to him. That way you have tags, paperwork, insurance cards and should be good.
If you can't get the paperwork all done, write up a complete contract with ALL data including VIN, buyer, seller etc, print two copies out, have the seller sign them, you sign them, have a copy of the eBay sell screen printed and put all that in an envelop with your insurance cards.
That last part worked with the Nevada State Police.
