I have used GMC trucks for the past 20 years, both their Sierra full sized and their Jimmy SUV. I usually run them 150K miles or so and trade them. My current 99 GMC Sierra SLT is fully loaded, 2WD with 5.3 L Vortec motor and is a dream to drive, load up or take 5 adults anywhere. I have towed 4000 Benzes over a 1000 miles with a 1800 pound trailer and never know the trailer is back there [until it is time to back up or park].

You can get the 4.3L V6 Vortec but the 5.3L V8 gets just about the same mileage and has much better durability and loads up much better. I constantly get 23ish on the road at 75-80 with the 5.3.. Mine has 100K miles on it and has had ZERO issues from day1.

No mention of bed length. 5 adults means extra or even crew cab. Details? Sloppy post, bear. Let's shape up.

Sorry, I was on the Sony Vaio Laptop with Chili on one side, a tall glass of Iced Tea on the other and a big cat trying to get the Chili.

Here is said 1999 GMC Sierra SLT with full Leather interior, Sony AM, FM, XM, CD, iPod, Bluetooth ICE, all options except sunroof, 20" Torque Thrust Wheels, Kumho ECSTA STX tires, full Bilstein suspension setting at the West side MM75 rest area on I-68 at Sideling Hill. I was letting the truck rest after running from Frederick at 90 up all the hills with the trailer loaded with the 1980 280SL 25th Anniversary Mille Miglia Edition.

Is that better.
