You know all of this is learned because when I was growing up my parents NEVER hired anyone to do anything so it was dad and me for everything. I have not hired any work done either [except when the building inspector required an electrician for that annoying 220 stuff].

I found that the Downey system is both cheaper and gets the smell of Computer Room Geek out of the room. Only when I have put in mini and mainframe boxes have I required full humidification systems - although they break more often than they work and someone STILL has to go out and buy Downey.

I didn't see the edit. I would use boiling water on both the inside and outside of the pipes. Turn you water heater up to max to get the best heat but remember to turn it back down before showering. Once it is pliable it should loosen up unless someone put liquid nail on the threads. .
Will try that. Liquid wrench did not work earlier presumably not
for plastic. I really hope it wasn't glued in place.

if you have a heat gun or a hair dryer that should loosen the glue.

Yes,use the hairdryer as suggested and put a strap wrench on the joint and keep the torque applied even if you think there is no movement. They tend to let go very slowly.

Sleet? I got that here, sometimes there will be little build up of it in the bottom of the tray that catches ice in the freezer from the ice maker

So, Morgan, how did the test go? It was nice and clear at 7am this morning. Temp was above freezing and the roads were clear.
