Then your opinion must be either culturally based or simply driven by fear that I can't put my finger on. I see that your opinion fits well with the Jayhawk types but that's predictable but for God sake why don't you have faith in a woman being president? Please don't base your "opinion" about how you feel about Hillary; try to be objective and justify your answer.
before I hit that one square on the head, let me just state this. Rather than completely "bashing" a 21 year old about their dislike for women in powerful position, why don't you first say, "hey, thats pretty cool that a 21 year old actually knows something about our country, politics, and actually gives a shit about what happens in the world...REGARDLESS of the fact it might not be what I believe. Most "kids" my age don't even know who is running, yet alone what party and what they have to bring to the table, since most college students don't even give a damn about any of this. I just hope to God that everyone in this thread voiceing their opinions *both ways* voted in the last election *if possible* and are voting in the upcoming one *if possible*
Moving right along to your question: This is completely non-clinton related.
: Women aren't exactly taken seriously. It doesn't matter if it is the most powerful woman in the world, there will always be the men in higher places that will not take her seriously JUST because she is a lady. Now, I understand this goes the same for men, but not in the same sense. Men just all have "who's penis is bigger" contest, and well, you can't exactly have one of those with a girl.
Now think back to when you let a girl beat you at something...How pissed were you (mostly because your buddies wouldn't lay off you for being beat by a girl)when that happend? If a woman presidant some how "out smarted" (for lack of a better term) another country in one way or another, how do you think that country would feel? Not only would the people of that country not take their "whatever" as serious any longer (esp if it is a country that looks down on woman) but it would also cause that person to lash out even more.
As far as rationality, woman get irritated FAR more easy than men and are A LOT more emotional. So it's kinda like a "yo momma" war. You say one bad thing on a bad day for one of us and all bloody hell breaks loose. (those of you who are married know EXACTLY what i'm talking about). With women being so capable of flying off the handel for something as simple as having a "fat day," makes me a little bit on the scared side.
Yes, i am aware of all the paperwork, people, etc that anything "major" has to go through to be able to cause any signifigent amount of harm to another country, or our own..BUT what if it's just a simple bill that goes through that day? It could be the best bill in the world, but it gets to the lady, and she's pissed off at something, and one little word isn't how she likes it THAT DAY, and bye bye bill.
You all being men might not understand the exact inner workings of a female because well, you've never experianced them...but it's the same way that you all don't get why we talk to girls we don't like, or can carry on a full convo with another girl without one single word even being spoken.
Ok, now i know some of you think i'm crazy for thinking this way, but it's how i see it...I am not some anti-feminist, I just don't think that it's something we're perhaps "ready" for just yet. You guy can argue with me all you want, but it's never going to change my opinon or how I feel...Perhaps if it did, THEN you could call me spineless for NOT standing up for what I believe..but the fact of the matter is, if i DO believe in something, I don't just change that...not for you guys, and not for anyone but myself.
