That's correct and maybe we should stipulate that to accept a teaching job one must not have a family of his own so he or she can dedicate his or her life for others... Why don't we let the nuns and priests take over our education like they used? Maybe we should force the Vatican to become more productive and send in their clowns

Teacher's make good money. Not great money for the importance of the job, but many kids just out of college are not just going into the profession for the love of kids. Of that I can assure you! And I am speaking from first-hand knowledge of the subject.

Because the average teacher salary for nine months of work is $47,602! As high as $57,760 in CN and as low as $34,039 in SD.

hehehe
The young ones were recruited right out off college and were promised all sorts of bullshit.
The old ones like me brought in real life experiences to the classroom. My problem is that I was also lied to when they hired me. They promised to pay for my PhD if I took the job at 24K a year. I took the job but they turned around and told me that they had no funds to pay for what I wanted. I was stuck with a contract that just said that I had to get a Doctorate to continue teaching college but with no help to do it financially or through course release. I am sure that Jayhawk is going to tell us that 24K a year is a lot of money and that I should STFU, right? Oh, I stuck around since 2002 hoping that things will get better, did my job, saw my students graduate and earn three times what I earned on their first jobs and all I got is a 2% increase one year when times were good according to the college. In the mean time I used up my savings to keep up and make sure that I show up everyday. I could not afford to get sick since the health insurance we had sucked and had deductibles as high as what I make a week. Luckily my kids are in good health and never needed braces or other care but I got a real scare one day when one of them got hit by a hit and run driver. As you can see, living on the edge is not for everyone but then again according to Jayhawk I must have some issues for being angry

Hey, I'm sorry if you got screwed and/or made mistakes, but that happens to a lot of good and smart people. The real test of ones character is being able to learn from that experience and then move on; and not wallow in self-pity for the rest of one's life.

Oh, don't worry, I have moved on So far stripping and wiggling my assets have paid off handsomely and I hope to break even in a few years so I can at least build a future for my own kids
