Windows Vista

Sadly, I was forced to purchase a new desktop PC today, and am now forced to spend my weekend putting it in working order. Windows Vista, while not as bad as advertised (first impression), is really pretty damned annoying. So who can tell me how to stop it from nagging the living crap outta me?

I bought 2 new notebooks in Singapore a couple of months ago. NB's came with regular version of Vista, I paid to Upgrade to Windows Vista Business with that upgrade I was able to downgrade free of charge to Windows XP Pro. Gave me the extra advantage of going back to Vista Business (FOC) once they get MS issues enough patches and Vista has it's shit together. Had the distributor do all the installations/upgrades for this before I accepted the units and he got paid, well worth the trouble.

vis·ta (vst)
n.
1.
a. A distant view or prospect, especially one seen through an opening,
2. An awareness of a range of time, events, or subjects; a broad mental view:

Perhaps it will be better in the FUTURE.

I'm going to continue to nurse my old PC until such time all the users that must have, or need, the new operating system have debugged it for me.

Do the Same as JE did downgrade to XP Pro, I did that also because I found myself sitting here swearing at the computer when things I needed to run would not and other little buggy issues that I just plain do not want to deal with now.

My laptop [sony] is running Vista and my former desktop is/was running XP Pro. When I just finished building the new desktop from scratch I went with Vista. After dealing with both, I found that Vista [after you get used to it] is really much better. It just has a bit of a curve after you are used to XP Pro.

I will get my notes tomorrow at home office that has some of the toggles that I did to tune it up. It runs 8GB of RAM so well and multiple monitors so much better.

More to follow.
