Unless it was an FDA magazine it was the editor that decided on the importance, not the FDA but you are correct, this is just going to be another of those instances of a series of unintended and unexpected consequences.
Considering the recent history of some of our government agencies I have a serious concern as to whether the primary consideration was given to the expediency of business or the health of the general public. Recent history has shown that it is more likely the former, rather than the latter.
Being smart is knowing the difference, in a sticky situation between a well delivered anecdote and a well delivered antidote - bear.
