Biggest eye opening stat from Iowa race was that Obama pulled in more 18-25 yr olds than all over-60's voting. I have been dismissing this guy but that stat makes one stop and think, if he can do it in the general election, he would be unstoppable. I think Clinton is through at this point. She has made a big mistake in surrounding herself with old Clinton Admin hacks in a year the voters are ready to push everyone "old" out and go for everyone "new".
If McCain is not nominated, there is no way the GOP will keep the Whitehouse. Romney has now lied three times on the record (claiming he was an avid hunter at an NRA convention when in fact he had never fired a gun, claiming his dad marched with MLK, and then last night, claiming he had never accused McCain of being in favor of "amnesty" when he does it all the time), Guiliani fucked his girlfriend on government-paid-for junkets while wife and kids stayed home, Thompson is the biggest dud in history, Ron Paul is now being called a "communist" by the Right Wing Nut Job Set, and Huckabee will never score shit anytime he is running outside the Bible Belt. The GOP better get smart, soon.
Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.
