I'm still pretty happy with it. It's good as a simple head replacement for stock equipment (very good, actually). It would probably be great as a head unit for a completely new setup including amps & subs.
I do wish that adjusting audio properties was a bit easier, and I wish you could save presets for multiplexed HD Radio stations. The face detachment takes some getting used to. Those are really the only down-sides. I think it's a great receiver. I know more and more people who have gone Alpine (units older than mine and similar to mine), and all of them have been very happy with it.
I'd heard that the Infinity Kappa Perfect door speakers were the cat's pajamas...Having heard them in an S2000, I'm still partial to the Polk 651's I installed.
The iPod control is about as good as you can hope for given the size & display constraints of a 1-DIN unit. Sounds fantastic. Going to try MP3 CD's as well since my iPod is on the blink...fairly sure it will sound excellent as well.
Make sure you let me know if you wanna do that through Crutchfield, I think I still have some kind of referral discount to hook you up with...will have to double-check.
