Yes...
Was that really the question that was posed? I thought the question was more along the lines of "Do you want to sit here and wait for 'them' to sneak a nuke into your town, or go over there and get them first?"

That would fall under one of the many reasons the Afgan. and Iraqi occupation makes some sense. As far as pertaining to the genuine question, while we are on a truth mega hunt, posed on this forum, that would be can you see the rationale and legitimacy of the side you oppose points of view? Damn, that was garbled at best.

Damn son, use punctuation marks or we'll all misunderestimate you.

The point of view I oppose is the one that (since the foundations of democratic institutions) suggests that 'common man' cannot judge between two paths and learn his way to prosperity... and that those in a relatively privileged position, as regards the ability to pass judgment, must therefore present the voters eyes with a caricature of 'their' intentions and then carry out 'their' superior policies as unbound to them.
I can see the rationale in this.
Whether it is legitimate, or not, is subject to the position of one's own best religious authorities.
For instance, I don't, think fighting toe to toe, with those seen as infringing ones turf, is innately negative. Even if it is on the other side of the world. Look at FDR. He had his faults, but he sure knew how to take the country to war.

FDR and Abe both manipulated the so called system, don't kid yourself. Abe made damn sure he antagonized the south at Ft. Sumter and FDR ignored tremendous warning signs regarding the Japs to make damn sure as well that we could play the victim to its fullest in WWII.

^^^ Fortunately with your post, I don't need a dictionary, a thesaurus, or a brain. It is sufficiently dumbed-down that no intellectual sophistication is required.

Deeply appreciated.

Perhaps both your problems can be addressed by you both realizing that now millions of Arabs are motivated to commit mass murder on us, when this situation did not exist before. We have created a situation where our own day of reckoning will come.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

So "the south" was like, not part of the United States? I think Abe thought so, and what with the "protect and preserve the United States" part in his oath of office, perhaps he felt a little antagonized himself. And the Japanese? How dare we antagonize them into committing a sneak attack on Hawaii like that?
