[QUOTE=BNZ;2664575] You were very blessed to have someone like that in your life. I know I wished everyone did if that was so I think that the world would be a better place. I know it's close to christmas and I don't want to make you guys feel sad but if you have and elderly relative please take the time to tell them that you love them Please, there was a saying that i put in my high school year book when I was only 18 years old it read 'Be thankful for the people in your life, for that you may not always have them" I wrote that because my grandfather had just died. I wish everyone a great Holyday season,
P.S. the spelling was intentional.

BNZ I just read the bottom line in your reply, Thank you, Just last week we visited her and she insisted that my wife have something that was very special to her it was a piece of glass that was given to her by her great grandmother probably back in the mid 1800's. It wasn't enough that she thought of me as a son but she cared for my wife also.

Nobody

Nobody loves me,
Nobody cares,
Nobody picks me peaches and pears.
Nobody offers me candy and Cokes,
Nobody listens and laughs at my jokes.
Nobody helps when I get in a fight,
Nobody does all my homework at night.
Nobody misses me,
Nobody cries,
Nobody thinks I'm a wonderful guy.
So if you ask me who's my best friend, in a whiz,
I'll stand up and tell you that Nobody is.
But yesterday night I got quite a scare,
I woke up and Nobody just wasn't there.
I called out and reached out for Nobody's hand,
In the darkness where Nobody usually stands.
Then I poked through the house, in each cranny and nook,
But I found somebody each place that I looked.
I searched till I'm tired, and now with the dawn,
There's no doubt about it-
Nobody's gone!

I am very sorry for your loss.

I read this touching prose some time ago:

"TO REMEMBER ME"

"At a certain moment, a doctor will determine that my brain has ceased to function and
that, for all intents and purposes, my life has stopped.

"When that happens, do not attempt to instill artificial life into my body by the use of a machine. And don't call this my 'deathbed.' Call it my 'bed of life,' and let my body be taken from it to help others lead fuller lives.

"Give my sight to a man who has never seen a sunrise, a baby's face, or love in the eyes of a woman.

"Give my heart to a person whose own heart has caused nothing but endless days of pain.

"Give my blood to the teenager who has been pulled from his car, so that he might live to see his grandchildren play.

"Give my kidneys to one who depends on a machine to exist from week to week.

"Take my bones, every muscle, every fiber and nerve in my body and find a way to make a crippled child walk.

"Explore every corner of my brain. Take my cells, if necessary, and let them grow so that someday a speechless boy will shout at the crack of a bat and a deaf girl will hear the sound of rain against her windows.

"Burn what is left of me and scatter the ashes to the winds to help the flowers grow.

"If you must bury something, let it be my faults, my weaknesses, and all prejudice against my fellowman.

"Give my soul to God.

"If by chance you wish to remember me, do it with a kind deed or word to someone who needs you. If you do all I have asked, I will live forever."

I lost an aunt in 1992, who was a second mother to me. She was 46. As I approach her age, I begin to realize how young she really was. She had a heart-lung transplant in early 1991 and she rejected the lung and heart, in spite of the best efforts of the doctors and the anti rejection drugs.

Your aunt lived 84 good, productive years. She made well of those years and I'm sure you're proud of her. When you feel really down, remember all the great times you had with her and all those times she was there for you. Sorry for your loss.

I lost my Grandmother in the 1970s and I lost my mother and father in the 1990s and have since lost three brothers. Shit man its hard and Im not getting any younger, but you have great memories of you Aunt and those will live with you forever.

Grandmother looked after a lot of orphans too, before she died, she said to me and Dad - dont cry for me im going to meet my husband again and Im gonna make his after-life hell and then she died. She was sooooo strong that she would wait at the factory gates each week to make sure Grandfather came home with the money in his pocket.

Life can be taken away but memories cannot and with those memories we go forward and create good memories for others before the big event comes.

ERIC.
