"Neocon" is a great label. Whenever we see something we don't like, just pop a can of Neocon and Presto!
It is used in the way that Limbaugh spits the word, "liberal". Before Limbaugh got hold of that word I used to think I was a liberal. Limbaugh managed to jam every kook socialist and Earth First! and crazed union boss into the same label. Danged if I want to be associated with them! Limbaugh took a word that once was the goal of all Americans and perverted it to smear a class of people. His label no longer fits the liberal I was -- close to Eisenhower and John Kennedy and far from Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer.
I think there is a good chance that voters will tire of the anointed party candidates by early next summer. The two major parties will have had several months to find every DWI, reefer, washroom sex, a cousin who is doing time for child molestation, a spouse who had an affair with a neocon -- whatever. Each side will broadcast innuendo as fact and have surrogates throw race cards like hand grenades.
At that time we will be ripe to fall all over ourselves for somebody, anybody, who isn't a neocon-liberal-bigot-socialist-warmonger-coward that the two major candidates appear to be.
And folks, that's how we'll get our very own King Stork. Aesop knew his shit.
The biggest problems we are facing right now have to do with George Bush trying to bring more and more power into the executive branch and not go through Congress at all and that’s what I intend to reverse.
