I loved the Beatles. Their harmonies, inventive guitar parts and arrangements made for some great tunes back in the day. I saw them in 1966, my dad took us. He thought the $5.50 ticket price was outrageous.
Somehow the combination of George's Gretsch, John's short scale Rickenbacker and Paul's violin shaped Hofner bass through those old Vox tube amps was perfection. Ringo was way under-rated as a drummer as well. Not a lot of flash, but a very steady tasteful beat and some unusual drum techniques that really added to the music.
