Craftsman have always been very good to me, both riding and self propelled. On the one occasion the riding mower threw up, the parts were cheap and they are pretty much bullet proof [though I have not tested that aspect]

Being smart is knowing the difference, in a sticky situation between a well delivered anecdote and a well delivered antidote - bear.

My Yard Man is just a glorified MTD but does the 360 swivel thing with 6 speeds, parts are cheap and it's easy to fix.

I agree I would have to replace my gas grill about every 2 years. Everyone here knows how I keep forgetting to turn it off, but my WEBER grill is great I have had it for 10 years now and only had to replace the grates once.

I remember mowing a neighbors yard one summer and seeing a new Cadillac go buy with the windows up and the air on. I said to myself fuck this kind of work, I want one of those fuckers. So I learned how to detail cars and then found myself driving just that, and Lincoln town cars, and Mercedes turbo diesels.

After an ass peeling session over the $300 with my son, he took it out and in 5 minutes it stopped running. I took it back to Honda and they told me, after a week in the shop, the crank was bent, all the oil had leaked out, and it would be another $450 for a new engine. That was the end of that, I told them to keep the piece of shit and I went back to the $200 Sears things with Briggs and
"Scrap Iron" engines. When they act up after 5 or more years I feel no remorse throwing them out and buying another. But, for the two or three years before this disaster, I was quite pleased with the thing. I still miss the speed controls as now I mow the lawn again. Jim
I know I have said this before but I will say it again,

Jim, It's dead

My GOD jim it's dead jim
You better stay away from him he'll rip your lawn out jim.

I now have a White by MTD, a 1999 model I bought new. It's still rock solid and I used it to bush hog (no shit! Saplings at least 1/2" diameter, limbs, rocks, briars, etc.) my whole property before building the house. The only casualties, so far, are a tire, a belt and a set of blades. The deck is made of this 1/4" thick stamped steel so it won't bend. It's tough as nails. The new White's are shit, though.

Lawn service. I don't know what they use, but two guys come and whirl around on those zero radius two lever things, I swear it looks like water ballet with them out there flying around.

What used to take me almost two hours those guys do in about 20-30 minutes.

Much better than a Honda, I have 2 lawnmowers named Adi and Darta.........

Finally came time to cut the grass so I took a pic of our lawnmower and thought I would add it. Here is Adi mowing the grass in the front yard while Darta is doing the backyard, never break down always start when you want them too and no expensive gasoline needed to run them............

Man. I love people like you. I own 15-years old pressure washer with 11 HP Honda and even after sitting for 8 months it starts on 2-nd pull.
I just bought Honda law-mower for about 30% of its original price. The seller told me that he used it for less than 1 HR and seeing the size of his lawn I believe him.
Regardless in 1 season he managed to glue the air (paper) filter with stuff even I can't figure out, foul the spark plug and get the carburetor filled up to the top with accumulation of waxes. I spend about $12 on parts and 1 HR of my time to make it working on the first pull all the time.
Stainless steel deck, new (almost) Honda mower for $110. Thanks man!
