Photos are really starting to rise in price. Back between years in AFA I spent my time in SoCal and took classes in Photography in Carmel. Ansel Adams was the very top name at the time and I was able to take one six week class from him [and his assistants - mostly his assistants]. The long term benefits, besides learning how to shoot landscape work better was that he made prints of his work and signed them for the members of the class. I have eight original 16X20s that I have kept for 31 years now.

Adams, O'Keefe, Weston original prints are always going to be appreciating assets [plus they just look good]. Signed prints are even better.

What is going to be most interesting about photographs is the chemistry of the print process. So many quality prints are shifting in color or tone and their perspective is forever changed. That has to diminish their value. Mint in photography is very hard to maintain.

Being smart is knowing the difference, in a sticky situation between a well delivered anecdote and a well delivered antidote - bear.
