If that is where ideas you think are useless shit belong, be my guest and pack your ass with them between or even during those sessions with underage boys and trannys. But there will be a much greater scrutiny of Israel's demands and bleating after Iraq. I know I won't support letting the continued lack of sincerity in their overtures of peace talks persist while they demand weapons and cash, and American invasions of ME countries at the cost of hundreds of thousands lives and the accumulation of generations of tax debts. All that effort and money could have made us entirely energy independent. Instead we are seriously diminished by all measures. I don't think that is a good sign for leaving the US relationship unchanged with Israel. Jim

Your name is Jim Smith not Jim Baker.........If you seriously believe the US is going to change it's relationship with Israel then yes you are a dumbass. It is very true the US cannot continue to carry on the way they have over the many different US administrations but who has politically has a big enough set of balls to do it out of the 2008 contenders? Just 1 name that is all I ask for........

You hit the nail in the head!
I still support helping Israel stand up to any invasion from its neighbors but not the other way around. So far our help as dictated by AIPAC has made Israel more vulnerable while we managed to tarnish our image and lose credibility as a broker for peace or anything else for that matter.
Right now all we managed to do is arm Israel to point where they feel free to attack anyone and not worry about anyone's opinion legal or otherwise. Israel has become accountable to no one and its lobby (the only foreign lobby allowed in the US) is in total control of our congress when it comes to ME policy. Should they have doubt about a policy maker's allegiance to Israel, the smear campaign will ensue and funding from donors will be swiftly cut off: this is a reality!
Most of our politicians can have opposing stands about many topics such as social security and other "internal" stuff" but they are all, and I mean all, singing the same song when it comes to Israel. That's how strong of a hold this lobby has got on them. That's why every move we make in the ME is not balanced and will never be balanced. Jim, don't count on an awakening of some sorts because that would be extinguished and buried under the "anti-Semitism" blanket statements and accusation that will fling around like turd in a hog farm.

Coming out against Israel is different than calling for America's best interests to be paramount in our relationship with them, so, I doubt any candidate intends to take an anti-Israel stance in the next months. But I don't think making it clear that America's interests must be served first will be met with horror. This is not that difficult a nut to crack. But you are correct, it is not on anyone's agenda yet. Given the chance, I think Biden could make a change. He seems to understand how to get people to see America's best interests. Jim

Yeah but we are sold on he idea that whatever is good for Israel must be good for us or else.
Just look at this forum and the many heated discussion we had whenever some people perceived my points as "ant-Semitic"; multiply that by many fold and aggravate the language and the mean spirited intentions and that's what awaits anyone in Congress that would even try to put our interests ahead of Israel's regarding the ME and our dealings with that region. I am with JE on this one, it's a lost cause and it will be suicidal for any politician to even contemplate playing this game.

To drive the point further:
Israel angered by U.S. findings
http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/world/iraq/bal-te.mideast05dec05,0,2027409,print.story

"
For years, Israel has been at the forefront of international efforts to isolate Iran, with Israeli intelligence estimates warning that Iran was on the brink of a nuclear "point of no return," an ominous assessment that often fueled calls for a military strike."

" Yesterday morning, Israel's Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper called the U.S. findings "a blow below the belt."

Let the machine do its job; I am certain that AIPAC is on it to right this wrong and every member of Congress is being called to again show their support to this lobby or else.
