Big male Afghan Hound, stood a few inches taller than the Shepherd even at 6 months.
I'm sure you totally trust your dog. My perspective has always been from the outside looking in. As an example, the fellow living behind me a few years back (yards separated by a cyclone fence) had a Shepherd that I knew well -- from my side of the fence. Once, a ball or a frisbee or something went over the fence, and I had to get it. I hopped the fence, and the Shepherd instantly went into shepherd-mode, aggressively confining me to the smallest area of the yard that still allowed me to retrieve my property. It was pretty uncomfortable, and the bonds of friendship we had formed from our own yards were no longer apparent. I wonder what the pup would have done had he not known me at all.
