O.T. Disappearing Doors

I received a very interesting E-mail with a link to a site for automobile doors that disappear under the car. I thought how neat it would be to have these on an SLK. The site is HTTP://www.disappearing-car-door.com/ I'm somewhat computer illiterate so I hope that I posted this correctly.

Very cool, but impractical for sports cars, the space those doors went (under the floor boards), are usually obstructed by annoying things such as structural supports...

On SUVs and SOME sedans it may work, but require massive structural mods. Also, i can't see it being as safe as normal doors, as there didn't seem to be any locking pins that keep the door in place once closed. If you look at our cars, the locking pins become structural mounts for the doors if they are hit.

I agree. Wish that someone would bring back the gullwing doors that were on the old MB and Delorean cars.
