Jaybird,
I wouldn't say that. The fed also said there will be a slowdown
and if a family budget is squeezed by high gas prices, the
discretionary spending goes first.
If you are in the auto industry, you should be on the front lines
of this effect. Banks are hurting as well so they will be less willing to lend. Again, if you are in the auto industry, ... (repeat).
So tell us.

I dabble a little in the stocks, but I gotta admit it makes it even tougher if your using brittneys new underwear as an indicator. If she's not wearing any does that make it a bare market?

Jim Cramer was on the Today show today and had five key plays for the future. I can't remember all five, but they included any company involved in natural gas, soy beans, Brazil, etc.
The only difference with a Dem run government is there won't be the obstacles to innovation in the field that has been so pervasive in the past few years.

Remember, For the first 5 years of this administration there was a representative of the energy industry who "doctored" every environmental and climate report, both for economic and scientific data who worked in the Vice Presidents office, in the White House. Never mind that he had NO experience in economics, environmental issues or science. His expertise was MEDIA. He was finally outed in 1996

With roadblocks like that removed I can imagine a less hostile environment for the growth in the Alternative Energy businesses.

Sears stumbles.
Sears earnings disappoint, shares drop 15% -- chicagotribune.com

"But the weakness also extends to "most categories," the company said, including sales of apparel and home-oriented products.

At the holding company's Sears chain of stores, "comparable-store" sales -- sales at outlets open at least one year -- tumbled 4.2 percent. At the company's lower-end Kmart chain, sales dropped an even more punishing 5.0 percent."

You don't seriously believe there won't be any roadblocks under democrats do you? They will just be different roadblocks, but there will be roadblocks--some might call them checks and balances...

You mean like the ones during the first six years of Bushie?

If there is a dem congress and dem white house I can see some actual environmental legislation being drafted and less dependence on MidEast oil.

There will still be roadblocks but not to stuff regarding the environmental issues. If the dems win, I think Big Oil might just have to make its profits on its own, without presidential help.
