Will it bethe end of Mahmoud?
I would guess that Mr. Ahamdinejad does not really have any deep rooted, or real popular support, in his country, as it is in a mess, now, and he never really fulfilled his campaign promises to the people that elected him in the first place.
Much more importantly, his fate really lies not with the electorate, as in truth he serves pretty much at the pleasure of the Mullahs and those "Revolutionary Guards". I really doubt that people like him who play fast and loose with their masters have an enviable or secure retirement plan to look forward to. If he runs too far afoul of his masters, he might just end up in some Iranian prison, or strung up with a rope.
I couldn't care less what becomes of him, as it was never disproven he wasn't one of the mob leaders who took the US Embassy personnel hostage in 1979, when he was young. Those Mullahs may be a bunch of Wookies, but he is no debutante.
And I doubt he is in the top ten on Israel's hit parade, either, after his remarks about that country.
It reminds me a lot of Pervez Musharrif in Pakistan, whose popularity , as well as his support, does not run deep. I think George W. Bush is taking a HUGE gamble by hitching his wagon to that single individual, Musharrif, in Pakistan.
If he goes, there goes the US bond with Pakistan - it COULD happen.
