Historically, I've told people I'm an "agnostic", because, well, I chose a faulty source and didn't do my homework. I'm not alone, but that's no comfort.

I'm not announcing my atheism, because that's even more ridiculous than agnosticism.

The most accurate description of my beliefs is actually "areligious".

Here's what caused me to do that little bit of investigative work. I'm continually amazed at how little middle ground there is betwixt religious kooks and atheists.

Am I agnostic or atheist? | Rational Responders

I particularly like that they embrace a binary system of describing one's non-religious status. As if there's nothing but agnosticism or atheism to chose from if you're not a devout Christian, etc.

I'm completely agnostic about your apparent change of heart.

^ The word you're looking for is "apathetic". And it's not a change of heart, just a clarification on the original position.

No, the word is agnostic--I have no opinion, 'cause I don't have enough information upon which to base an opinion.

btw: May I hump your leg, sir?
