Seriously, see a Chiropractor, and look for one that follows the Gonstead system. If the guy doing the hands-on work is a wimp, forget it. Find another chiropractor. You need a pretty burly guy to do the job right.

You should also try some back specific exercising. Stretch by laying on your back and then with your feet flat and knees up, pull one knee to your chest, keeping the other foot on the floor, then the other one. Do it a couple of times and then roll over, lay flat and tilt your head up, then kind of do a push up with your hips/stomach still flat on the floor, arching your back. Do this a bunch of times. Should make the back bearable, and don't put heat on it. Ice it or go buy some spray on "ice" to cool it off.

Back pain sucks. But there is nothing better than a good chiropractor for it, however, finding a good chiropractor can be as hard as finding copper gutters or copper gutter thiefs. Jim

I hear you Jim, but what baffles me is that I do Yoga, I exercise by lifting weights, run, and yeah even dance
Right now I gave up working on the house again as I am sitting here typing with a scented heated pad (Lavender and weeds)
My wife is saying the same thing, I need a medical professional to look at it.
As for the gutters I am in the process of making some and I hope to get better so I can do some copper cutting and bending. All of my gutters are hand made (by me) so yeah there can be no replacements.

I stepped up my exercise regimen and now it feels like I've torn the rotator cuff in my left shoulder--aging sucks.

ouch man, I think age is taking a toll on us.
Last year while playing soccer and moving forward to take over a ball in play I heard and then felt my calf muscle snap. It was horrible It took me months before I healed
