IntelliTXT Ads

Back when the game world consisted of Atari and Mattel, I compared their systems and it was obvious that the Mattel Intellivision was miles ahead of anything that Atari was offering so I bought it for me my kids. Apparently, Atari knew they had an inferior product and sold their games for about half the price of the Intellivision titles.

Compare...
Atari Football......... vs. ......... Intellivision Football

You idiots out there (you know who you are) fell for it completely and drove Mattel to the edge of bankruptcy for trying to sell a better quality product. Now they have resorted to selling lead toys just to try to hold onto market share.

I hate you.

Tomorrow's thread will be about Beta vs. VHS.

Some of us were running Commodore64 and text based games so I don't want to here about it.

I do wish I could find my copy of the text based flight simulator that I had that ran on cassette. Actually pretty cool and taught a level of thinking that was mind-numbing.

I think I just figured out my problem.

I just last month gave away my Coleco Pong game. Still worked perfectly. And looked bitchin' on a 36" Trinitron.

I had the C64, a little after the 2600. Playing "Combat" with my Dad on Christmas Eve was pretty fun. I was maybe 8 or 9 years old, and we chose a level where we had tanks. Every time I shot him, he'd shoot across the screen about 10 times, and come to a stop, and I figured out the pattern, so I'd nail him again before he could go far. 5 minutes of that and he'd about had it, and I was laughing so hard I couldn't breathe.

The C64 was awesome. Gamer heaven. What ever happened to Epyx?

This game caused me to become a gameaholic.

Up until then, all the 8 bit trash left me cold.
Although a side-scroller, the maps are so vivid that you feel as though you can go anywhere. The follow up episodes are great too but this is still the best and with an excellent storyline.
