20 headless corpses found in Iraq, police say

Somebody posted this story the other day to show how the surge was failing, turns out the story was..........

Time Sticks By False Story Out of Iraq
Bottom Line Up Front: Time Magazine tied a bogus story of beheadings in Iraq to proof that the surge has outlived its usefulness.

Remember last Thursday when U.S. forces in Iraq officially handed over authority of the historic city of Karbala, Iraq to the Iraqis? You may recall that story being followed up with an “Oh, but there were 20 headless bodies found near Baquba, say Iraqi police.”

I thought it was odd. So did Gateway Pundit, who decided to ask commanders at Multi-National Force-Iraq about the "headless bodies". MNF-I reported there is no evidence whatsoever to support the story and Iraqi police are denying the report.

The story of 20 headless bodies is completely false.

Yet Time's Baghdad reporter Mark Kukus wrote Has the Surge Reached Its Limits? for Time Magazine and pitched the story as fact. Time is still sticking to the story. It makes for good press when the surge is going so well and Marines are bored because things are so peaceful.

Note how the Time reporter tied a bogus story of bloodshed to the conclusion that the surge success has "perhaps gone as far it can." What reprobates.

They did offer a correction, though:

I'm still awaiting a REAL correction.

The most probable scenario is that terrorists, remnant al-Qaeda or insurgents spread the false story to counter the Karbala handover. The odds were that a very eager and willing accomplice, the MSM, would run with it minus the fact checking.

The MSM is so easy.

Poor Mark Kukis, Time writer in Baghdad. He has a deadline to get his copy in so Time can kill a few hundred thousand trees spreading lies and defeatism. But he catches a lucky break when the news of 20 lovely decapitated bodies comes in. Oh Bliss, his editor will love this and it ties in with the overall Time stylebook requirement that any positive accomplishments in Iraq, must be offset by 4 times as many reports on bad news, real or fake but accurate. "Just follow the narrative son, you'll be fine."

Has the surge reached it's limits?

He punches the reader right in the guts with his highly edited and fact-checked reporting in this opening paragraph.

The horrible discovery in Diyala province Monday was disturbing even by the standards of Iraq's running sectarian violence. Iraqi police said they found 20 decapitated bodies dumped near a police station west of Baquba, the capital of Diyala province.

That would be horrible if it had actually happened, you maroon. Just another terrorist press release printed in full and given the MSM seal of approval.

It is kinda fun watching the MSM do a beautiful slow motion sinking, kinda like the Titanic. I can't wait until Leo slips under the water.

Yes, you're right that' why the State Department employees can't wait to get an assignment for Baghdad.

Maybe it's an opportunity for you to take over a vacancy here an there, how about it? Think about it, you get to serve and maybe if you go on a sortie with Blackwater you get to kill a brown person for fun.
