LA fire started by boy with matches

A boy playing with matches started a fire in north Los Angeles County that consumed more than 38,000 acres and destroyed 21 homes last week, authorities said Tuesday.

The boy, whose name and age were not released, was interviewed a day after the Buckweed Fire was sparked Oct. 21, said sheriff's Sgt. Diane Hecht.

"He admitted to playing with matches and accidentally starting the fire," said Hecht said in a statement.

The boy was released to his parents, and the case will be be presented to the district attorney's office, Hecht said.

The 60-square-mile fire began in an area near Agua Dulce and quickly spread by fierce desert winds. It was among more than a dozen major wildfires that killed 14 people and blackened 809 square miles from Los Angeles to the Mexican border.

Authorities arrested five people for arson during that period, but none have been linked to any of the major blazes.

Damned children, I hope the DA puts their parents on trial, and then in jail and they are forced to sell their damned house to pay restitution for ALL the damage, which would probably take the rest of their lives.

Raising children is a responsibility and those parents need a harsh, painful financial lesson. Having babies definately is not a license to destroy the lives of those around you with no consequences attached.

^ Better yet, send them on a trip - expenses paid. Stops at D3-PO's, Pyjama's, and Robert's House of Hedonism.

They'll be begging for an overnight stay with Michael Jackson, Courtney Love, and Britney Spears when they get back.

But FoxNews said it was Al Qaeda

They broke in with Breaking News and everything. Even included the up to date 2003 story.

It could have been the Maryland fire.

I caught a bunch of kids in the woods behind my house a few weeks ago. They were getting ready to start a camp fire when I noticed them in my property. They chopped down four of my trees and gathered all the dry leaves from nearby into a fire pit. If I was 30 minutes late stumbling upon them, I could be homeless right now. Especially with the drought we have here. Things will light up in a hurry.

Damn yard apes. Hate them yard apes. No wonder I don't want any. Them boys did closed to $500 worth of damage to my property.

Anybody has some used bear traps I can buy?

Well, I am surprised those terrorists have not thought of that yet. All they need is to walk into the woods and cause unimaginable damages like the SoCA fire. And the matches can even be free if they pick them up from a restaurant. How about a bunch of cars loaded with suicide bombers and place themselves 10 to 15 cars apart, then set them off in the middle of a rush hour. That will scared the crap out of already paranoid people like Jayhawk. They will never want to drive on highway again.
