That's like asking if hanging Saddam was worth it to prevent Nazis from starting another holocaust.

With that kind of money, we can rebuild the entire country.

So.......I am still waiting for your answer.

If it so reasonable why not donate a resident's fair share of taxes at your income level for the last 6 years to the cause? If I wasn't paying taxes I might be able to provide such a glib, and meaningless, response. Jim

Your supposition that the unprovoked invasion and occupation of Iraq might prevent, rather than provoke, further terrorist activity in our country is ludicrous. The repression of further foreign terrorist activity in our country is the exclusive domain of border security and police actions.

I'm still waiting for mine! How is Iraq responsible/related to 9-11?

Saddam was not part of the plot, he kept terrorists out of his country, he had NO WMDs, he was not a threat to the USA, Usama Bin Laden was never in Iraq and Iraq in general has no ties to 9-11.

Rhetorical question. I am still waiting for you to awaken from your Bush infatuation stupor.

The preemptive invasion of Iraq to prevent another 9-11 is about the most ineffective way to prevent another 9-11 anyone could have conceived. Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11 and until we invaded and attracted every Al-Qaeda terror trainee for thousands of miles to with our soldiers as bait "so we can fight them over there instead of fighting them over here" had no Al-Qaeda ties to Saddam's Iraq. The consequences of this invasion based on lies and deception from the Oval Office about WMD in Iraq are all long term, very negative consequences. We are nearly universally distrusted and in many households in the Middle East, despised, our international influence is severely diminished to the point where our next call for help will be completely ignored, meaning we have isolated ourselves, our military is damned near worn out in terms of hardware and personnel, our future potential has been nearly extinguished by the financial burden this fiasco has placed on our coming generations.

The flaw in your question is the presumption that somehow "another 9-11" is being prevented. We have experienced losses far in excess of the original 9-11-2001 horror by the folly of our "preemptive" invasion of Iraq.

So, avoiding another 9-11 event is worth something. But invading and occupying Iraq for the next twenty to fifty years has nothing to do with that goal. Try again Jaybaugh. Jim

As I've said before, I can't wait until al-Qaeda--you know, those terrorists in Iraq--come down your street looking for you... We'll see how brave you are then. Keep denying reality... IT WILL get you killed! The only thing ludicrous here is YOU!
