Your "middle of the ground" judgment is based on your beliefs. It's biased, plain and simple. Before you say it, my views are biased as well.
One important lesson that I have learned from talking to folks about politics in person and on various fora over my past 40 voting years. It became very clear as I would suggest that folks get a world view to gain realistic perspective and many on the right would say something, much like what you said, that "most of those countries sit firmly on the left" or "they are all leftwing". I resolved that if EVERYONE ELSE is "to the LEFT, it is us [or should I say US] that has the skewed perspective of what is left and what is right.

If EVERYONE is to the LEFT of us, the fulcrum is nowhere near where those on the right in this country think it is. That group's beliefs is much further to the extreme right, and out of touch with mainstream than you think. That was not the case with the Republican Party of 40 years ago, but the NeoCon [NewConfused] influence has altered the core beliefs of the Right to the point it is nearing a fanatical extreme in the world view.

Now, it would be hard to use Lou Dobbs since he is Republican. as is Tucker Carlson, Joe Scarborough and Dan Abrams . Jon Stewart is on COMEDY CHANNEL, not a news channel. Aaron Brown has been gone for over a year, Al Franken has not been on TV as a commentator, or talk show host for nearly a year [but he matches up pretty well with some].

Dan Rather is a pretty good example but I don't think I have ever heard Couric, Gibson, or Williams slander, slime, swiftboat, or talk HATE to or about anyone. You have to do better than that.
As I said I DO NOT believe that many if any of those on your list are hateful! O'Riley did go off that one time, but name anyone who--given extreme pressure--hasn't lost it. But to suggest that the upstanding people on your list "...slander, slime, swiftboat, or talk HATE" just shows how far off the left end you really are. They are fair, honest and truthful and occasionally use unusual methods to point out the flaws in the leftwing kookberger's arguments.

You really need to put "Republican" in quotes when referring to Dobbs, Carlson and Abrams, because w/ "Republicans" like them we don't need democraps. Joe (Cup of Joe) Scarborough is a Republican, though he frequently kowtows to libs on his show to avoid confrontations. And I firmly believe Couric, Gibson and Williams are an entrenched part of the drive-by media, and far worse than the talk-show hosts you listed.

I think it is your fulcrum that is more than a little skewed by the leftwing hate groups like moveon.org. You are correct in observing that it is nowhere near where those on the LEFT (my substitution) think it is. And if you think the democrat party today is anything like that of 40 years ago, you sadly mistaken.
