I moved from Bay Area, California to Atlanta last September, and the moving company has not delivered my belongings>
Still the delivery has not made.
In fact, I filed a complaint through American Moving and Storage Association (AMSA). According to AMSA, the moving company is not responding.
So, I made a call again today and now they are saying actually their trailer is stolen. They said somebody from customer department will give me call back how I can claim insurances and stuff, but not surprisingly I have not gotten any calls.
I googled around a bit, and it seems their insurance company is almost scam too.
I lost my words, feel stupid, and basically am legally robbed.
Call the POLICE in their town NOW, they are open. Get your information to the Police ASAP so there is no lag time. If there was a theft of their trailer, it should have been reported to the police.
You need from the movers FedEx, Police Report, Insurance Report, Bonding agency and a copy of the Business license and Insurance/Bonding documents.
When you notify the Santa Clara Police TONIGHT of this, make sure you get the name of the officers who take your report. Have them email you if possible since you are remote.
Get BadBenz to fill you in on the appropriate questions to ask both the police and the insurance folks
If you think the Insurance is a scam, contact the California Insurance Regulatory office and the Office of Attorney General in California - ALL ASAP.
