I've said it before, but I'm going to say it again. This is a great forum and a great tool when it comes to working on my car.
I just asked in my Grand Prix forum how to fix a recurring low tire pressure indicator light. I got an immediate response... "RTFM to learn how to reset the monitor!" (read the f**king manual).
WTF? (a) resetting the monitor is simple, if you can figure out how to set an alarm clock you can figure out what this guy is talking about. Why the assumption that this was the problem. (b) Even operating under the assumption that I was legally retarded, why not just tell me how to do it? Do these guys really get that much joy out of flaming people that he couldn't take an extra half second to explain the exceedingly simple procedure.
It makes me appreciate how great Benzworld is. People ask silly questions the answers to which are already posted on the permanent newb threads and they get answered. Then people will ask insanely complex questions and someone invariably knows the answer, or if no one does a discussion ensues and the combined knowledge of the community eventually prevails.
One time on Clubgp I asked about a noise coming from the front end of the car which the stealership told me was the wheel hubs. It obviously wasn't the wheel hubs and the community might have actually had an interesting discussion as to what it could be. Not a single person answered. So I posed the question here (about a car that isn't even a benz mind you) and got 7 or 8 opinions.
At any rate, I'm done with my rant, but kudos to everyone here for being a part of such an invaluable source of information which has helped me fix my car time and time again.
