W/ a free press comes a responsibility not to compromise the securiy of our nation and our people...

Do you really think ABC would actually say they are publishing sensitive government secrets? Get a grip!

But the leaker did not give it to the Russian press: Why do you think that might be?

Al Queda did not announce it's release! Next thing you know, they won't announce its next terrorist attack!

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

You must be drinking w/ drewprof...

How the hell do you know "it was released by a government agency"? I will bet $$$ that no government agency was involved in its release. It was probably some loser/traitor/bushwhacker who wanted to feel a sense of "power" or "control" that they never could achieve in real life. Someone like you... And as far as checking w/ someone in authority, it would behoove all in our media to make sure what they publish will not compromise our national security if there is any question about it at all.

I was never an advocate of the Iraq War. But once there, IMO the military should have been given every chance to succeed, which among other things should have meant absolutely 'NO PRESS.'
It's a paradox, that by first restricting Democracy, Iraq might now have more of it.
