Botnst continually put forward National Socialist ideas and yet became incensed if anyone pointed out the fact that they were in fact, National Socialist ideas. He essentially, as you yourself have done Shane, advocated stealing Iraq's oil as somehow a logical projection of national power. He advocated the free enterprise system, yet endorsed using the military instead of the marketplace to procure raw materials, as you yourself as done as well. Murder, invasion and occupation for the sake of taking the resources for one "national society" for the use of a superior "national society" is, National Socialism, it is where the term comes from. Botnst found it difficult to pose as a non-Nazi while advocating exactly that, something he found as difficult to do as posing as a "libertarian" while defending every action of the "neo-con" movement, with "neo-con" being the polite way of saying "Nazi". He was just to easy a target my friend, and ran away after being unable to maintain his cartoon. I really don't consider him a Nazi, I just considered him in denial about the true source of his political opinions, a fellow by the name of Adolf Hitler.
Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.
