And a funny side story to traffic violations [surprise].
A couple of months ago I found out that one of my employees, the one who drives my work truck and trailers very nice customer cars from point a-b is without a valid Drivers License because he found insurance a bother. Last January they suspended his license for a year. I found out in July.
So he no longer drove my truck or towed the trailer or picked up/delivered clients or their cars. His transportation of choice became his Suzuki GSX R1000, the twin of mine as he knew that, if chased he could out run the cops. [I never said it was a SMART plan].
Zoom ahead to 2:00AM Sunday morning. The phone rings. Guess who is calling and from where? So tomorrow at 1:00PM I should be at either Traffic or District Court with Don as he explains why he was driving on a suspended license for a second offense and why he is driving without insurance for a third offense. [He was in his truck, not on the bike]. I don't think this is going to end well.
He is 24. IF he does not go to jail straight from court I believe we are going to have that talk that begins with "I want you to meet Major Laumont, he is going to provide you with a new career path."
Being smart is knowing the difference, in a sticky situation between a well delivered anecdote and a well delivered antidote - bear.
