OK, between jetlag, internet at the loverly Doubletree, service at the Fletcher Jones Benz dealer yesterday and my trip over the mountain to Santa Cruz, it has been a festival. I just got up.
The car runs very well. it is strong and shifts very smooth. I noticed a bit of a whine at 100 and knew that I wanted to get the fluids all changed out so i saw the dealer near a restaurant and pulled in. As I expected it was a wheel bearing in the front that was not playing well with others so I had them repack. Might have made it back to do myself but rather not have that decision made for me in the middle of the Rockies.
I ended up staying up til 3 this morning [body time] talking away with friends that I met almost 20 years ago. We talked about friends they have known for years that I have met like Darol Anger [the Bluegrass fans will know that name] to very interesting research on the medical implications of the interactions between the heart and the brain [more about that on another thread when I find a link to some of the examples-I thought the medical interactions were very important but was interested in the decision making skills developed between the two]
It is raining right now but suppose to be better later today. I hope to take pictures and head up to Canepa later today to see if they have the original build sheets for the AMG work that they did on the car.
So far the only things I have found bad is the front air dam which is 3 inches off the ground has been "played with" to fix it after using it as a curb feeler. And the rear window is starting to cloud. I will most likely take the car home, replace the rear window, paint parts of the car and leave it.
Pics to happen as soon as the weather breaks.
The fluids in Joe55's pics don't appear to be from the car, though I could be wrong.
As posted earlier, the visit with the former girlfriend with very well, with no ER trips involved. More visits to NoCal friends throughout the weekend and then I will figure my SoCal trip.
Being smart is knowing the difference, in a sticky situation between a well delivered anecdote and a well delivered antidote - bear.
