No need, the rain held off.
Of course it couldn't be uneventful, got in a minor accident on the way there when I stopped for traffic and the lady behind me didn't.
Still, it's minor cosmetic damage and the dinner and the company was excellent.
DR, you ever get up this way, dinner's on me and I guarantee it will be better than the mundane Ruby Tuesdays.

mc bear meets cascade in Sacramento, with his new 560SEC AMG, 1988 one.

Spent about three hours today with mc bear in a Peruvian restaurant today, in Sacramento, and had a long talk and a thorough inspection of his new black/black 1988 560SEC AMG.

The car is a lifelong California car, just 133,000 miles on it, looks fantastic with period correct 17" AMG Aero I wheels, and a full and complete AMG body kit - a fine car. Has plenty of records and a pretty complete history from new.

In my opinion, the car was well bought. Not perfect, but very very good, and
he has a great car. It will be fun for him, he will be off to SF and Santa Cruz, for photos, then to the MB Classic Center in Orange County to have the car serviced and fluids refreshed for the cross country drive, through Arizona, Colorado and then back home to Kentucky.

He did a quick photo shoot of the car in the parking lot of the Peruvian restaurant, and he told me he will be on line tomorrow. Pictures should be abailable soon, I would think.

Mc bear is a GREAT guy, really intelligent and great sense of humor, and knows EVERYTHING about the 500E cars.

It was a great to meet a BWOT poster in person. People are not always as they appear in their on line personas, but mc bear is a great guy!!

Let's hope he checks in with further progress reports, but yeah, he is rolling in his new 560SEC AMG - it looks good!!!

I believe that Cascade is now leading the BWOT sweepstakes for the poster who has met the most other members. I guess I should amble over to Lake Montebello and honk the horn a couple of times. I'll probably have to bring lots of singles.

Well I am back online. I am staying in the heart of SillyValley and have internet service that is dated 10 years. It drops off every 10 minutes so posting up pics is a bit impossible right now.

I got into a nice traffic jam last night on the way back from Sacramento and did determine the 560 does not overheat in traffic. Yeah.

More when I get to a reliable internet.

It was very good meeting Greg, Joseph and Jim in the past two days. And the meeting with the ex girlfriend well very well also. So far, only the surprises with the car are the only down sides but the money differential will make it fair and easy to fix.

McBear,
Kentucky

Being smart is knowing the difference, in a sticky situation between a well delivered anecdote and a well delivered antidote - bear.
