Agreed. And TV does it no justice.

I guess I was inculcated in the best of the best, and all the rest aren't worthy of my affections. I had the benefit of growing up here in the NW back in the early '80's when rally was attempting to enter the NA market. I had the privilege of working a leg of the Olympus Pro Rally (in my backyard), back when Team Audi was barnstorming the continent. I can't think of any motorsport event more interesting or visually/intellectually stimulating than rally or autocross. My mind gets really flighty when I attempt to contemplate all the snoozy details of the roundy-round stuff--yawn-fest.

I ran an autoX Saturday in a friends Skyline RHD car and then my normal 240Z. It is a great hobby. I have not done off road rally like the Olympus Pro Series but it would be much fun. I agree that it is a very technically charged skill but a completely different skill set than DTM or NASCAR or IRL or even autoX.

I did road rallies with SCCA back in the mid 70s while in Colorado and have wanted to do Newfoundland but never have the time. With all the GPS and digital, it almost doesn't seem like the same sport as it was in the 70s.

No thanks, I'm still getting used to my brand new pair of roller skates, It appears I lack the tool to adjust them.
