UMMMMM........................ Senator Edward Kennedy?????!~!~!~!~!
Oh, the swimmer.
I am really mixed on term limits for Senate/Congressmen.
I have seen some Congressmen, Democrat and Republican that truly represent the views and interests of their constituents and have those interests in mind when they are in Washington.
I have also seen some Congressmen, Democrat and Republican that seem to be in politics for the money and graft, unable to hold down a real job and have no more interest in representing the interests of their constituents than they do turning down that next campaign contribution.
And there lies the conundrum. How can you cull, by limits the deadbeat legislators that plague the halls of the Capitol without also taking away the truly favored representative of many who work hard for their constituents?
Of the two Kentucky Congressmen that I know personally, and have donated to both, I believe one is in it for all the right reasons. He has no reason to "gain power" and has one of the calmest egos that I have met. The other, I know to do favors for contributions, I know to put money ahead of principle and to put party ahead of his constituents. Does he care about his District, YES. Will he work for his constituents. YES...if it doesn't get in the way of his political and profit agenda.
Guess which one helped me get a legitimate government contract ONLY after I donated to his campaign?
I would like term limits on one and not the other. That is not possible.
