He had ignored several lawful commands to stop and step down, he resisted the lawful actions of the police and several others at the rally, and he then resisted arrest, provoked police officers, tried to incite a riot, and a number of other things--any one of which would have been reasonable grounds to tase his ass. The only reason I regret the police action is because they played right into his grubby little hands and in turn gave him the free national media coverage he so desperately sought.
You just made my point. Up until the point of escalation, which was when he was commanded to stop and step down...

I have not defended his actions, look at my posts [I realize that is hard for you], I was merely commenting the entire thread on a escalation that went from A)questions at a political rally to Z) TAZING without a logical sequence.

The escalation to grabbing, swarming, and tazing was not a warranted response to the event. Of course I didn't support blowing the shit out of a country that had nothing to do with 9/11, in the name of TWAT, just because Bushie wanted to either.

Not sure how posting more irresponsible tazing is a lame defense but OK Nero.

If you read much about Florida Law Enforcement you will see that there is a pattern of Tazing incidents that is chronic and has resulted in Federal investigations into their use in that state.

Pattern recognition, much like critical thinking is a wonderful thing.

Both of which are seemingly unnecessary for such paragons of uncompromising moral certitude.

Here's what the punk's own blog had to say about his "incident..."

Tasered student videotaped by own camera
5:24 p.m., Sept. 18, 2007

One of the many videos circulating of a University of Florida student being Tasered by police was shot with the student's own camera.

Clarissa Jessup, who was standing near Adam Meyer just before UF Police took him into custody during U.S. Sen. John Kerry's speech at UF, said Meyer asked her to film him asking Kerry a question just before he approached the microphone.

That fact has given rise to rumors that Meyer, who aspires to work in national media, was performing an elaborate stunt. But Jessup, who says she never met Meyer prior to the forum, says she thinks he simply wanted a video of himself talking to Kerry.

"I don't even know this kid," said Jessup, rebuffing any notion that she'd collaborated with Meyer to film an incident he knew would escalate."

So bottom line............ It's inappropriate to interfere with a Democrat speaking on a liberal campus, do that and you get beat up and tazered…… I can’t imagine what you guy would be saying if Bush had been the speaker instead of Kerry……

The kookbergers here would, of course, say "they tasered the worng guy: They should have tasered the President of the United States of America--because I don't agree w/ him..."

Did you even read what you posted? That is a quote from the Gainesville Sun.

Now, if you were going to be in a public forum and getting to ask a US Senator a question, would you not like to have it filmed? Sounds like that is what he did, according to what YOU posted.

Only question on YOUR post is the sentence that says ...RUMORS that Mayer, ...was performing and elaborate stunt.

Are you sure this is what you meant to post? This actually seems to clear the kid, not push some preplanned agenda. But I am only going by YOUR post on that one.

I don't like anyone's right to question authority impinged. Especially by force. So whether it was a Kerry Q&A or a Bush it does not need to happen.

Only REAL DIFFERENCE is that you can't get into a BUSH speech without an donation, invitation and background screening to insure that you are one of the sheep. No confrontational questions for W. He doesn't like getting his picture taken with that puzzled look on his face.
