This speech "A Tradtional Non-Intervention Foreign Policy" is making all the major papers today. If you want to listen to this speech, followed by honest questions from the audience, you will find a refreshing break from politics as usual:
Thank you. This man really believes in the Constitution.
This fellow makes good sense.
Well worth a listen.

The thing that's amazing to me is that as knowledgeable and common sensical as Dr. Paul sounds on these issues, many of the folks in Washington find him ridiculous and quaint, which begs the question, 'what kind of morons are we sending to Washington to represent us and follow the oath they've all sworn to support and defend our Constitution?' Seriously!

The problem with Washington is that it's a cult of corruption. Even the most honest become tainted by the power and greed. If you don't play 'the game' as it's been played for over a century, your district will suffer from no funding of pet projects and you won't get your desired 'chairmanships' and placements on any of the various non-sensical committees. Even if Paul gets elected, he will become 'one of them'. Sorry that I'm so damned cynical.

The man isn't some fresh-off-the-boat rosy-cheeked kid, he is a 10-term U.S. Congressman. His integrity has stood up to nearly 20 years of Washington politics and corruption, I rather doubt that he'll suddenly fall prey to it now.

Is it possible, during those 10 terms, that he has learned how to say what he knows the voters want to hear? I know he's only one of 435.

^ I'm sure he has, but he continues to say what he believes instead. You won't find anyone in Washington with a more consistent voting record over the course of his career.
